Koh Phi Phi (Phi Phi Ley and Phi Phi Don) are truly breathtaking islands in every sense of the word.  These are perhaps among the top 10 most beautiful islands in the world.   Recently a major Hollywood filming took place here featuring Leonardo DiCaprio (of Titanic fame) in the move "the beach".  So for those  of you who have been here before, you will probably recognize these magnificent islands when you see the movie.  For those who have never been to Koh Phi Phi, the movie is a great scenic introduction.

Phi phi island got hit very hard from the 9.3 earthquake which caused the tsunami, so be sure to contact your hotel there before traveling to make usre that is is available for you to stay in.

The Phi Phi islands (pronounced Pee Pee) lie approximately 30 miles off the coast of Phuket.   Regular ferry service and daily tours can bring you here between 45 minutes to two hours depending on  conditions and choice of boat.  During the high season these islands can become overly crowded with many people finding it very difficult to secure accommodations.   It is highly recommended that you make advanced bookings if you plan to stay here.

There is some excellent snorkeling and diving in and around Koh Phi Phi with visibility sometimes reaching up to 30 meters.  Please help keep Phi Phi as clean and pristine when you leave as when you found it.
