Elephant trekking- There are numerous elephant trekking camps that have sprung up over the last five years. There currently is a camp located in Kalim that has had a rogue elephant cause havoc two times in the last two years ending up with serious and severe injuries. Should you feel the need to sit on an elephant and go through the jungle at a very leisurely pace, we recommend using the camp just above Kata Noi beach, Kok Chang elephant safari. They have a reputation of providing good service along with spectacular views over the Andaman Sea. If you travel over the Kata viewpoint towards Nai Harn, there are three more Elephant Camps that offer stunning views over Ao Chalong. Elephant trekking isn’t cheap and not necessarily exciting, but it makes for a great photo opportunity.
