Cape Panwa Beaches nightlife, restaurants, hotels, shopping
Cape Panwa- Cape Panwa was until just a short few years ago a quiet sleepy Muslim village. To reach Cape Panwa from the west coast beaches takes a good 45 minutes, so development came much later. There are actually some decent beaches at Cape Panwa, but nothing that compares to the west coast beaches. On the plus side for the beaches, the water here can be quite calm during the low season compared to the dangerous west facing beaches. The Phuket Aquarium is found at Cape Panwa, along with the Deep Sea Port which is the stop for many cruise ships as well as visiting Navy ships. Places to stay in Cape Panwa. Due to this being one of the last parts of the island to be developed, Cape Panwa has a high percentage of 4 and 5 star hotels/villas that got in the game late, so this area was their best option for being close to the beach. By far the dearest place to stay in Cape Panwa is Sri Panwa. This hotel is owned by a prominent Bangkok property development family. The rooms consist of 1,2 and 3 bedroom pool suites, some with ocean views and others with garden views. Other very nice hotels include Radisson Panwa which is located beachfront, along with the Cape Panwa Hotel which also boasts 5 star amenities with an oceanfront location and its own private beach!
Places to eat in Cape Panwa. Due to it’s isolation and relatively late development, Cape Panwa does not have a large variety of places to eat outside of the hotel restaurants. Of all the hotel restaurants, Baba at Sri Panwa is considered to be the best. The Chalet between Kantara Resort and the Cape Panwa hotel also comes highly recommended with very reasonable food with a great sea view. If you’re looking for some Indian cuisine, Live India is considered the best on this part of the island. Things to do in Cape Panwa. Cape Panwa has the Phuket
Aquarium which is open to the public. It is highly recommended for a couple
hour visit if you’re staying here. There are numerous spas here
at the various 5 star hotels, so an afternoon of pampering certainly is
in order. For the more adventurous, head over to Ao Yon and do some sailing.
There are some smaller lazers as well as some hobie cats here. If you
want to listen to music, lie in the sun and people watch, the Baba Pool
Club would be a great option. Your shopping options are quite limited
to west coast areas, however a 20 minute taxi ride into Phuket Town can
take care of all your shopping needs.
